Discovering The Magic Of Rosebery.
Rosebery is the suburb version of a Hans Christen fairy tale…with the perfect ending. Starting life as the ugly duckling (an industrial wasteland in the 90s), it quickly blossomed into the gorgeous swan you’ll find today.
The once blocky and industrial warehouses have a new lease on life- creating a haven for foodies and designers alike. Combined with the new developments scattered throughout, Rosebery creates a juxtaposed and vibrant scene. I’m lucky enough to live here and some days it feels like a designer’s fantasy land. I’m a block away from The Cannery precinct (more about that below!) and there is an amalgamation of gorgeous Australian designers in the area – from Zimmermann, Alice McCall, Ginger & Smart and Lover the Label, with showrooms the likes of Globe West, Boyd Blue and Coco Republic.
We are spoilt for choice with eateries, lifestyle brands, artisan foods and designers. Not to mention it’s refreshingly, a brilliant place to raise a family.
I absolutely love it here, and wanted to take you around the top spots! Located about six km south of Sydney city centre, it’s an easy suburb to get in and out of and well worth a visit. Whether you’re visiting Sydney, exploring a new area of the city or looking for a place to invest, I highly recommend popping out to our neck of the woods and seeing some of the Rosebery magic for yourself!

The Cannery is the only place you can start when talking about Rosebery’s food scene! Starting life as the historic Rosella Soup Cannery, the precinct now connects the old and the new – a true fairy tale ending.
The Cannery Rosebery is housed in 11,000 square meters of revived warehouse space and has many of the best artisan food venues and restaurants around.
Stanton & Co.

You have got to check out Stanton and Co, my local where I often take my laptop to eat, feel inspired and get design plans underway!
Located in The Cannery the gorgeous space draws inspiration from New York’s Meatpacking district and the site’s heritage. Their truffled oysters are to die-for and the rest of the menu draws from an innovative and modern Australian vibe.
Three Blue Ducks
www.threeblueducks.com | 1/85 Dunning Ave, Rosebery
Another Cannery favourite (I’m sure by now you’re picking up the theme of good food in Rosebery!), with more locations throughout Australia.
Their philosophy was born through looking at sustainable and ethical approaches to great food which I love, and this honesty reflects in truly amazing food.
Local, no fuss, delicious.
Bonus: Head to their site for delish recipes straight from their blog.

Ready for good pizza? Really, really good pizza?
Da Mario was Australia’s first ever member of the Associazione Verace Pizza Napoletana (a pizzeria that makes pizza to an excellent standard in the traditional Neapolitan way).
Sounds amazing right? It is, and it’s my boys favourite place to eat, for good reason!
The 5th Earl

Need a coffee? Same here.
5th Earl is a gorgeous spot to pop into for a lunch meeting or for a well-deserved brunch on a lazy Sunday morning.
Delish food and of course, the perfect cup of coffee.
Nash Big Brother Burgers
www.instagram.com/nashbigbrother/ | 61 Mentmore Ave, Rosebery
Another Cannery eatery that you need to grab a bite at when you get the chance. This place is all about comfort food – I’m talking big burgers, fried chicken and good old fashioned hospitality.
They also have a range of vegan, keto and gluten-free options too, so don’t be afraid about missing out on this deliciousness.
My kids love it here (of course), and so do I!

There is no way I can talk about my favourite places in Rosebery without guiding you to Archie Rose! This space is divine, a bar just metres from their distillery, surrounded by ageing whiskey casks, copper, steel, oak and concrete. The perfect place to pull up a seat and savour the spirits crafted right on site.
They’ve won numerous awards such as ‘Best International Bar’ in the International Restaurant & Bar Design Awards (London) and ‘Top Three Distilleries in the World ‘ by the Global Distillery Masters (London).
We are so spoiled here in Rosebery!
Bonus: For one of my favourite signature Archie Rose cocktails using the Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin, look no further than Rockmelon Fizz (recipe on my blog Stylish Christmas Festive Strategy) – it goes down a treat!
Mentmore & Morley

Pearl Nails Rosebery

Another hot spot in The Cannery building, this is my go-to nail salon.
A beautiful and perfect manicure, every time (and we all know I have to have my nails perfect!).

When you need a little pick-me-up and pampering time, take yourself to Swell Beauty for the best hair salon experience in Rosebery.
I recently had gorgeous blonde extensions in and can’t wait to go back – Nival is one of the best stylists I’ve ever come across!
www.motyaj.com.au 755 Botany Road, Rosebery
This sweet little pottery and plants shop happens to be right in my building – I’m so lucky! Sara and Natasha are so helpful every time I pop in and it’s incredibly convenient for all city based-based landscapers, designers & florists.
www.koskela.com.au 1/85 Dunning Ave, Rosebery
Once you’ve headed to 3 Blue Ducks for a bite to eat, head straight to this design store for a little bit of retail therapy. Koskela is an innovative Australian furniture, design & lifestyle brand (one of Sydney’s greatest design hubs), located in a 2000m² 100-year-old warehouse right in Rosebery.
They sell Australia’s largest range of Australian made and ethically produced homewares, furniture, lighting and art. With a commitment to sustainability, they offer beautiful, long-lasting design pieces with minimal impact on the environment.
Within this space, Koskela also presents the Koskela Gallery, a carefully curated space with a new exhibition every month.
www.boydblue.com 2D Hayes Road , Rosebery
Boyd Blue is one of my go-to places to source hollywood glamour and statement pieces; take a look around their store showroom and you’ll soon see why.
Their designer furniture, lighting, home decor and textiles are of the highest quality sourced from around the globe – with a fine eye for detail and quality craftsmanship.
I love to take my clients shopping here (one of the perks) and it’s exclusive to those in the design industry, so you’ll need to peruse their range online or book in with me for a design service!
Megan Morton The School
www.theschool.com.au 2/85 Dunning Ave, Rosebery

Vive Cooking School
www.vivecookingschool.com.au 61 – 71 Mentmore Avenue, Rosebery
The Cannery rises again with the gem that is the Vive Cooking School! Whether you’re ready to touch up your cooking skills, head out for a team building activity or host an event with a twist, their wonderful chefs and passion for great food will have you leaving happy and full!
I also love that they often host Junior Chef cooking classes (a good one to look out for during the school holidays!). That wonderful family-friendly vibe that I love about Rosebery strikes again.
Obviously, I love it here in Rosebery, and I’ve barely begun to touch on the wonderful and evolving retail and foodie scene.
It truly is a dream to live here – a vibrant and beautiful suburb that also happens to be a great place to bring up a young family. We are spoilt for choice!
Make sure you come out for a visit and let me know what you think of my fave places. I could almost guarantee I’ll have more to add soon!
